Geology and Internet in Portugal. The first geological contents in Portuguese language, available on the Internet, were developed by the Universities since 1995. Geological information in Portuguese language is still scarce on the Internet, in spite ofthe exponential growth of PT domains in the last few years. The reasons for this fact are discussed, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of electronic publication. A list of the most active and relevant sites is presented in this paper, together with a brief summary of their contents.
