Restos de Anchitherium de Lisboa, Portugal

Abstract

Key words: Anchitherium; Miocene; Portugal; Spain; France. The Anchitherium remains from several Portuguese localities placed on IVb and Vb (Lisbon area) levels are studied. They are compared with the French and Spanish remains, and particularly with those from the Madrid basin. They are identified as Anchitherium cf. A. ezquerrae from the Vb level remains, because the remains are very scarce.
